The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is an innovation hackathon for schools across the country. It was started by the Ministry of Education’s Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) and the Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog. How to Participate in Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help schools and students register for the event:

  1. Form a Team: Students (Class 6–12) can form a team of 3–5 members from the same school.
  2. Register Online: Visit vbb.mic.gov.in and fill in the registration form.
  3. Choose a Theme: Select one theme from the four mentioned above.
  4. Brainstorm Ideas: Identify a real-life problem and build a creative solution or prototype.
  5. Prepare Submission Video: Record a 2–5 minute video explaining the problem, solution, and its impact.
  6. Submit Your Entry: Upload the video and project summary on the portal between Oct 13–31, 2025.

There is no limit to the number of teams that can participate from a single school.

Mentorship and Support

The Buildathon will be supported by mentors from:

  • Atal Incubation Centres
  • Mentor of Change Network
  • Higher Education Institutions
  • Corporates and Industry Experts

These mentors will guide students through brainstorming, prototype development, and video submission.

To make sure that all schools can participate, extra care will be taken with schools from Aspirational Districts, Tribal Regions, Frontier Villages, and Remote Areas.

National Live Event

On October 13, 2025, a Nationwide Synchronised Live Buildathon will be conducted across all schools through live streaming.

  • Students will participate simultaneously from their schools.
  • The event will be streamed nationwide and globally through digital and media channels.
  • State and district-level events will also feature community innovation exhibitions, encouraging collaboration and local engagement.
